Anatomy lesson

A bit of conversation from our Sunday a.m.

M: Caden please put on your socks.

C: Can my horse wear a sock too? (referring to his stick pony)

M: Why not, pick one out for him too.

M: Caden you need to go potty before we leave.

C: Can my horse go potty too? Pause. No….he doesn’t have a butt!!…..or hot dog stuff.

Not sure where it came from, but clearly we need some clarification in male anatomy.

1st day of School!

Two weeks ago was my first day of Preschool! (It's a pilot program in our school so it is only one day a week just for the fall, until they can find more grant funding) I absolutely loved it and Avery gets to come too. We have so much fun and I can't wait to go back each week!

I got to pick out a new book at preschool and had to read it as soon as I got home. We didn't even get our coats off yet.

Too much fun

One day late august, avery had just too much fun and couldn't bounce another bounce. I left the room for just a moment and returned to find my girl snoozing! The jumper has since been retired in lieu of crawling and pulling herself up on everything. Being stationary didn't quite cut it any more!

Feel the love

You may ask...why aren't there many pictures of Caden and Avery together and the above pictures will give you a glimpse of how well photo shoots go.....they usually include a lot of smothering, head locks, wrestling, tears and silly faces....

...and so here is one of the only civil pictures of the two! (taken back in august..it's a little late!)

Busy summer...

It's been a busy summer...sorry for not posting, but hopefully you enjoy all of the new pictures.    Summer has gone by so fast.  It seems we've been a lot of places and done a lot of things, but at the same time if you were to ask our family what we did this summer.....we'd probably say not much.   My sister & I keep our parents on the go and often there's not time to take a photo...so much of the summer has gone by unphotoed...oops.   better luck next time.

My most recent highlight of the summer was going to Vacation Bible School!  I loved it and continue to sing all of the songs.  It was lots and lots of fun....sorry I have no pictures to share of it though.

Avery continues to grow lots everyday.  Last time we posted she couldn't yet sit on her own or eat solid foods.  Well now she's trying to crawl, gets into all of my toys, and eats anything and everything and she sings, squeals and babbles a lot!

Daddy's gift

So today I pained a special project for Daddy for his new office.

Soon one paint brush wasn't enough, I needed two.

And well....two paint brushes really looked like a fighting stick or sword.....

and...oops I painted the wall. Mom called my project a masterpiece and then we cleaned.

Master of Mess making

While mom was finishing feeding Avery and getting the tub ready for a bath for the two of us, I thought I'd get a little head start. Turns out mom has some pretty fun stuff to play with. Once again, she wasn't quite as thrilled as I was.

Mrs. Independence

I've grown a lot in the last few weeks and have come to find out that feeding myself is much more rewarding. You can hold me while you give me a bottle, but I'd much rather prefer holding it myself. And you can try to feed me with a spoon, but again, I'd much rather do it myself.

Avery 8 mo.

It's been a busy month: I sprouted a new tooth!

I can drink from a sippy cup.

I got my first digger while trying to crawl (there really is a bruise and a bump above my eye)

I'm mastering the art of eating cheerios!

Look at me grow!

all of 2 months ago my feet didn't touch...I just got to hang in my bouncy. But now mom had to raise it up, because I was bouncing too much and too fast! She really knows how to spoil the fun!

Bath time fun!

Now that Avery's bigger we can take baths together. It's lots of fun to have someone else to splash on. Mom always gets mad when I throw water on her!
